Everything about Botel Maastricht was great, staff were friendly and the location is excellent, quite close to the centre. It was the cheapest hotel/botel we found....
... however, I would have expected a room in which it is possible to kind of 'walk' around a bit. I mean, it was literally a room with a double bed (~70%) and a tiny bit of floor to put our bags somewhere (~30%)... So, I can definitely recommend this if you intend to sleep there only and don't have any other demands... ;)

It's value for money. There are many very nice bed & breakfasts in Maastricht for the same price offering much more comfort.

my overnight stay at the riverfront hotel was even better than my previous visit to maastricht. the friendly staff and practical bathroom were highlights, but waking up to a stunning river view was the real icing on the cake.
Bed too small for two.

Breakfast was good. Staff good.
Large spiders in room. No plug for sink and only cold water tap. Shower and toilet only had curtain for door. Shower water temperature hard to control - resulted in us having cold wash,

I stayed at Botel Maastricht with my husband one night. I wasn't expecting much of it, i was there because of the excellent price they charge. Our room was a "double with bathroom" and was extremely small, not comfortable at all. The service and staff was very down to earth, nothing to complain about it. The Botel has a bar where you can go for a drink or use their free internet. Every morning they serve free breakfast. I recommend this place to those that want to save money and have a little bit of adventure.
I didn't like the size of the boat and rooms. I wake up next day very early because there was people having an argument next door...

Conveniently located by the river, with easy access to the city center and transport. Relaxing onboard experience with great views. Friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyable breakfast with a beautiful riverside view. Good value for a centrally located accommodation option.

Sleeping on a boat is a nice experience, and it is well located near the centre of Maastricht.
The room had only a single small window, which opened to the wall to which the boat was tied, leaving no daylight and little ventilation in the somewhat smelly room. There was only one shower that had to be shared between all guests without a private shower.

Friendly staff. Excellent location. On the river, so quite different from other hotels.
No soundproofing. And there was one very noisy night. Wasn't exactly their fault though - since the rest of the boat is quiet guests don't realise how noisy they are being. Needs some notices to warn people to be quiet.

Great value for money, with a unique experience of sleeping on a boat. The room, though small, had an amazing view of the river and bridges. The staff were friendly and accommodating, serving breakfast earlier for us.

The time I spent off the boat.
Room was run down and grotty, ceiling tiles peeling off. The 'double' bed was really a 'one and a quartersize' and at 56 Euros for the night represented very poor value for money. Beautiful sunny day meant the room became like an oven...I Felt like Cool Hand Luke spending 'a night in the box'. Spend an extra 15 euros and go to a real hotel.
